Why Play Therapy?

‘Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” - Gary Landreth

Play therapy is an evidenced-based approach to mental health care that encourages children to express their thoughts and emotions through a language that they know at their current developmental level - play. Therapists develop a trusting relationship with the children they work with so that clients feel truly heard and can resolve internal struggles in a place of acceptance. Some play therapy techniques are also utilized for individual therapy to help clients visualize and solve problems.
